Dear Moms: This Mother’s Day, Please Remember You Matter Too
Moms are often the heartbeat of the home….
The planners. The caregivers. The ones remembering everyone’s appointments, making the meals, comforting the tears, solving the problems, carrying the mental load, and somehow still showing up every single day with love.
So many moms spend their lives pouring into everyone else’s cup while quietly leaving their own empty.
You make sure everyone else eats before you sit down.
You encourage everyone else to rest while you keep pushing through exhaustion.
You remind everyone else to take care of themselves while convincing yourself that your needs can wait.
But this Mother’s Day, I want to gently remind you of something important:
You deserve care too.
Not after everyone else is taken care of.
Not when life slows down.
Not “someday.”
Now.
Because the truth is — when moms continuously run on empty, eventually the body starts whispering for help. Fatigue. Burnout. Hormonal imbalances. Mood changes. Poor sleep. Digestive issues. Weight struggles. Constant overwhelm. Anxiety. Brain fog.
The body keeps score when we spend years abandoning our own needs.
And so many women have been taught that prioritizing themselves is selfish.
It’s not.
Taking care of yourself is one of the most selfless things you can do.
Because when your cup is fuller, you have more patience.
More energy.
More resilience.
More capacity to show up for the people you love.
You are not meant to survive motherhood completely depleted.
You are allowed to feel strong.
You are allowed to feel energized.
You are allowed to nourish yourself well, move your body, rest, heal, and prioritize your health.
Your children are always watching.
Not in a pressure-filled way — but in a learning way.
They are learning what self-worth looks like.
What balance looks like.
What health looks like.
What boundaries look like.
What self-care looks like.
When your children witness you taking care of yourself, you give them permission to do the same for themselves one day.
That matters more than you know.
Maybe for you, prioritizing yourself starts small:
Going for a daily walk outside
Drinking more water
Eating breakfast instead of skipping meals
Strength training a few times per week
Going to bed earlier
Saying no without guilt
Meal prepping to reduce stress
Booking the appointment
Asking for support
Finally deciding that your health matters too
Small steps matter.
You do not need to overhaul your entire life overnight.
You simply need to decide that you are worthy of care too.
As a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, this is exactly why I do what I do.
I work with busy women every day who have spent years putting themselves last. Women who are exhausted, overwhelmed, burned out, and disconnected from their bodies — but deeply want to feel better.
And the beautiful thing is: it’s never too late to start.
Your health is not just about weight or appearance.
It’s about energy. Confidence. Longevity. Hormonal balance. Strength. Mental clarity. Resilience. Feeling good in your body again.
You deserve to feel your best.
So this Mother’s Day, while everyone celebrates all that you do for others, I hope you also remember this:
You are worthy of the same love and care you so freely give to everyone else.
And maybe this is your sign to finally start filling your own cup first. 🤍
